Greater Boston Neuroscience Club

A student at UMass Boston has created a neuroscience journal club for undergraduate and graduate students. See below for more info if you are interested in participating. This is a great opportunity to learn more about neuroscience research, network, and/or present.

We invite guests across the Greater Boston area to discuss their recently published neuroscience-related studies. These articles range across the neuroscience field for instance in computational, neurophotonics, neurogenetics to systems, cognitive, neurolinguistics etc. Therefore, they are not necessary in the students’ knowledge area, and gives the opportunity for students to consult guests on the concepts and techniques.

A few examples of our past guests include Armin Bahl on decision making neural circuit (doi: 10.1038/s41593-019-0534-9), Nicholas Tran on retina resilience to injury (doi: 1 0.1016/j.neuron.2019.11.006), and Joshua Foster on spatial attention (doi: 10.1523/JNEUROSCI.2962-19.2020). It is held on a monthly basis and lasts 30 to 60 minutes long.

Contact Vic Chiang at V.Chiang001@umb.edu for information on how to join.
